The relation between the natural environment, including consequences of human interactions, and human health is an important aspect of environmental health. Whereas infections and bacterial food contamination are an important hazard in developing countries, more complex stress factors seem to effect indirectly on the environment and on human health in industrialised countries. Following the WHO definition of health and WHO reports these changes will be analysed.
