300188 VO Theoretical Morphology (2014W)

The lecture focuses on the empirical and quantitative assessment of theoretical concepts in developmental and evolutionary biology, such as allometry, heterochrony, modularity, morphological integration, asymmetry and developmental stability, morphospaces, etc. Basics in biology, particularly evolutionary developmental biology (EvoDevo), statistics, morphometrics, and quantitative genetics will be taught.
Depending on the students, the course will be held either in German or English.
