ÄNDERUNG Vorbesprechung am 11. März 2026, 14:00 Uhr in Raum 2B 201 im UZA 2 (Josef-Holaubek Platz 2, 1090 Wien).
Geländearbeit: 03.-09.08.2026
Vorgesehen ist eine Fahrt zur Zoolithenhöhle (D) und Mitarbeit der der Fundaufnahme in der Höhle. Es handelt sich um den locus typicus des Höhlenbären, aber auch des eiszeitlichen Löwens. Alles Organisatorische wird im Rahmen der Vorbesprechung geklärt.

Aims, contents and method of the course

Die Studierenden lernen Grabungsmethoden (Profilaufnahme, Bergung von Fossilien, Präparation, Bestimmen, Inventarisieren) und bekommen einen kurzen geologischen Überblick über die Region im allgemeinen und über die Fundstelle im speziellen.

Assessment and permitted materials

Active participation. Sorting and preparing of the material. Written report after the participation on this excavation including the stratigraphy, geology and fossil content of the site.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Die Zwischentests (50%), sowie der Grabungsbericht (50%) ergeben die Note. 60% sind für eine positive Note zu erreichen.

Examination topics

Grabungs-, Berge- und Präparationsmethoden, sowie die theoretischen Eckdaten zur Zoolithenhöhle und dem Jungpleistozän.

Informationen auf Moodle und während der Grabung. Weitere Literatur kann mit der Leitung gerne besprochen werden.
