Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The course focuses on methods for studying the behaviour of exotic animals kept in zoos.The students (in groups of two to three) are planning and conducting individual projects, will perform a detailed literature search, data collection and analyses, write a scientific report and give a scientific talk.
Assessment and permitted materials
The applicants will be evaluated through group presentations of practicals and final reports.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Each group of students has to provide a scientific report and give a talk.
Each person has to observe a particular amount of hours.

Examination topics
We will evaluate the quality of the scientific report. We expect an extensive literature search and reference list, a generell knowledge about the topic (e.g. methods, biology of the species that has been investigated,...), will consider the quality of the data and data analysis and will evaluate the general approach to the scientific topic.
In the talk, we will evaluate the scientific content, but also the general presentation (adherence to the time limit, structure of the talk, answering questions,...)
