Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture aims at providing an understanding of the theoretical and conceptual foundations of sustainable development. Drawing on an interdisciplinary focus, key-aspects of ecology, ecological economics, sociology and governance theory are presented in order to outline definitions, challenges and opportunities of environmentally and socially sound societal futures. Empirical cases serve to integrate theoretical conceptions and real world contexts. This year's focus will lie on the imminent climate crisis; the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic will also be addressed.

Die in der LV präsentierten Inhalte (s. Inhalte) sind Prüfungsstoff.
Der Prüfungsstoff wird auch über die Plattform Moodle angeboten (Voträge als ppt, Literatur als pdf, Prüfungsschwerpunkte als Themenliste). Eine aktive Teilnahme am Kurs ist dennoch hilfreich.
