Aims, contents and method of the course
Molecular biological and microbiological techniques from the research fields of environmental microbiology and biotechnology will be covered in practicle and theoretical form. Focus lies on the study of model organisms of Archaea, on thiotrophic bacterial symbionts and on the study of complex microbial communities.
Assessment and permitted materials
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Since the number of participants is restricted to 12, admission to the course might depend on the qualifications of the students (in particular attendance of lectures and seminars in microbiology and genetics or related fields).
