Pre-meeting: 3rd March, 2017 at 12 p.m.(noon), meeting room Department of Behavioural Biology, UZA 1, Biozentrum Althanstraße 14, 1090 Vienna

The seminar will take place from 19th May, 2017, 10 a.m. until 21st May, 2017, 12 p.m. (noon) at the Astenschmiede, Rauris (Kolmweg 5, 5661 Rauris)

Expenses: 16 Euro per night excluding meals (Snacks for breakfast and lunch will be provided - 10 euro in total)

Participation in the pre-meeting is obligatory, otherwise the registration will be canceled.


Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This seminar is meant to introduce participants to a specific theme in behavioural ecology that is currently of great interest. Most importantly, three skills will be trained during this seminar:

1) Scientific discussion
2) Condensing substantial and multifarious scientific information into a concise presentation
3) Optimizing a short (max. 30 min) presentation to inspire an audience and induce discussion

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Training of scientific presentation and discussion. Knowledge in specific topics of Behavioural Ecology using actuall literature.
