Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Principles and processes in molecular plant biology with focus on primary and secondary metabolism, plant physiology and ecology. Further, the lecture focuses on the molecular biology of development and plant-environment interactions. Finally, earth's net primary production is discussed in the context of the molecular biology of plants and algae.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exam

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students understand the principles of molecular biology, of primary and secondary metabolism, and of plant physiology. They have knowledge about the relevance of abiotic/biotic interactions in context of ecology and coevolution. The students possess basic knowledge of stress physiology and about the role of plants and algae in earth's net primary production.
