Aims, contents and method of the course
This course explores contributions by Cultural and Social Anthropology to Human Ecology. What does a social science perspective add to the research field of "Environment and Society"? How does it help to (a) understand social development and (b) to contribute to solving environmental issues? Inputs will include an overview of approaches and methods in Ecological Anthroplogy and presentations of ethno-ecological case studies that expose new perspectives on resource use patterns and resource conflicts.
