Aims, contents and method of the course

Method: This lecture will take place online until further notice, in accordance with government guidelines. On the dates mentioned, you will find the Power Point slides of the corresponding lecture unit on the Moodle learning platform between March 8th, 2021 and May 10th, 2021 and an audio file for each slide with my spoken text that you can click on.

Contents: Historical aspects of the human-animal relationship (hunting, religions, prehistoric extermination, domestication, diseases) up to the present day. Current animal-human interactions, human-animal relationships, animal ethics, animal welfare, animal law

Assessment and permitted materials

At least four exam dates between the end of May 2021 and the end of the winter semester 21/22.
The first appointment will take place in the form of oral one-on-one discussions online in the second half of May.
The second appointment will take place in June 2021 in written form at the university in face-to-face format.
The third appointment will take place in the form of oral one-on-one conversations online in the last week of August 2021.
The 4th appointment will take place in the form of oral one-on-one conversations online in the second half of October 2021.
The 5th appointment will take place in the form of oral one-on-one discussions online at the end of November / beginning of December 2021.
The 6th appointment will take place in the form of oral one-on-one conversations online in the second half of January 2022.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Providing an overview-like picture of previous and existing animal-human interactions; content of anthrozoology.

Examination topics

Lecture for students of anthropology, but also for everyone
other branches of study; Lecture notes for the lecture can be downloaded during the lecture (Moodle).
