Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Selected topics of cutting-edge research and methodological advances in cell biology presented by different experts (topics usually vary slightly from one year to the other). Current topics (9 lecturers): autophagy, cytoskeleton, the nucleus, cell division, membrane organization, organelle shape, ER quality control, organelle quality control and fertilization
Methods of instruction: series of on-site

Assessment and permitted materials

written, closed-book exam
Allowed / not allowed aids: no aids allowed

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Written (final) exam addressing the topics covered by lectures. Selected topics and number of questions varies. Answers to topic questions will be graded in form of points by corresponding lecturers. Final grade (1-5) represents the overall evaluation of the written exam. In order to pass at least 50% of the total number of points of all questions must be achieved.

Since this is an advanced lecture series in a Masters programme, there is no dedicated textbook that is up to date enough and with sufficient depth. Students should refer to the lecture slides (particularly the slides of the first lecture).
