Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Students are taught the basics of pathophysiology (including medical terminology). This includes tasks and structure of the immune system, morphological adaptation reactions in response to various noxious agents, pathological cell and tissue changes, causes, pathogenesis and clinical picture of inflammations, tumors, developmental disorders, diseases of the blood, heart, vascular system, the blood circulation, respiratory tract, respiration, gastrointestinal tract, liver and bile ducts, pancreas, kidneys and urinary tract, hormonal system, reproductive organs, skeleton, muscles, connective tissue, nervous system, sensory organs and skin.

Assessment and permitted materials

3 written examinations per semester with 20 free text questions (1-3 points) and definition of 40 technical terms (0.25 points per correctly translated technical term)
Time of examination: 90 minutes
Auxiliaries are not allowed.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

A total of 45 points can be achieved.
≤ 23 points: Nicht genügend (5)
23.25-28.25 points: Genügend (4)
28.5-34 points: Befriedigend (3)
34.25-39.75 points: Gut (2)
≥ 40 points: Sehr gut (1)

This examination will take place at the university.
