As part of our seminar, participants are requested to take part in the international IAEA Symposium "Understanding the Double Burden of Malutrition". Please register as soon as possible. (https://www.iaea.org/events/understanding-the-double-burden-of-malnutrition-symposium-2018) There is no registration fee. The remaining part of the programm will be prepared, once the number of participants is known to me. Each participant is requested to have a snaall paper presentation in class J At least one day participation in the symposium is mandatory. In any case, this Symposium is absolutely important in our context!

Aims, contents and method of the course

This seminar is meant to go into depth in some of the topics that are part of the lecture on Global nutrition. Each participant will be assignd to a specific topic and has to present this topic during the seminar. Presentations will be held in English

Assessment and permitted materials

To pass the seminar, students need a 50% score
30 % active participation
30 % Presentation
20 % Powerpoint
20 % Handout

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Main objective is to treat some of the Topics from the lecutre "Global Nutrition" in - depth. In Addition, critical reading of scientific publications to develop own ideas, pros and cons of certain research methods

Examination topics

Presenations by students will be judged ( see tye of exam) and active articippation e.g. in Participatory Rural Appraisal and Project Cycle Management, e

each articiant will receive literatur for the resective topic - the whole list will be available to everybody
