Aims, contents and method of the course

In this lecture series aspects of nutritional sciences pertaining to interesting, sometimes uncommon diseases in internal medicine are analyzed. Presentations are based on case reports seen in clinical practice. Following the case presentation pathophysiological aspects are analyzed and biochemical and metabolic mechanisms as well as nutritional principles are explained and elucidated.
Aim: Teaching interdisciplinary approach to diseases in internal medicine with emphasis on nutritional sciences. Elaboration of optimal management in interactive discussions.
Method: Lecture (on site), interactive teaching
If necessary the lecture will be turned to hybrid teaching or a webinar during the semester. To get this information students have to be enrolled in this course.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exam (multiple choice) on site, length of the exam: 60 min, no supporting information material allowed

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimal requirement for passing: 60% correct answers, Grading criteria: for grading of the lecture series only (100%) the grade of the exam will be used
