Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Active participation in all course units, reflection, peer feedback and feedback provided by the teachers.
This course is a course with continuous assessment. Attendance in the course units is mandatory (2 absences allowed).
The achievements that students have to complete over the course of the semester (in the course units as well as in the form of homework) are part of the final assessment.
Deregistration from the course is only possible within the specified deregistration period. Students who register for the course in the second registration period are encouraged to also be present already in the first unit.

Active and continuous participation and feedback sessions as well as timely completion of all achievements (research, reading, glossaries, etc.).
Assessment is based on the following:
25 % role plays
15 % glossaries
50 % interpreting achievements
10 % peer feedback and reflection
Assessment of interpreting achievements corresponds to the new assessment criteria, which will be discussed in the first course unit and provided on Moodle.Grading scale:
1 (sehr gut) 90 - 100 %
2 (gut) 80 - <90 %
3 (befriedigend) 70 - <80 %
4 (genügend) 60 - <70 %
5 (nicht genügend) <60 %

Students will receive suitable literature recommendations for each interpreting assignment (provided on Moodle).

Focus on the following interpreting competences: translation competence, linguistic and cultural competence, competence in preparation and terminology work, ethical competence, social and individual competence as well as business competence.
Role plays in realistic dialogic situations with subsequent reflection, peer feedback and feedback provided by the teachers. Students prepare for simulated interpreting assignments in various settings, research content and structure for the relevant conversation situations as well as terminology and read recommended literature.
