Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The course tackles a wide range of legal topics e.g. insurances, real estate sales contracts, property management etc. The translation of different tetxs will be made as group work during the class hours and as individual homeworks. Preparatory reading, text analysis and terminological work will be made as homework assignments. Two project works (Italian and German) have to be carried out during the semester. Students will get the opportunity to learn autonomously concepts and terms of the semester topics and to simulate project work. Students will take over different tasks within the project e.g. project management, terminological research, translation and revision.
Assessment and permitted materials
Compulsary attendence and class work 20%, weekly home-works 20% [20% German/Italian and 20% Italian/German], final written exam 60% [30% German/Italian and 30% Italian/German]. An over-all positive marking requires a positive marking in both of the two translations of the final exam. The project work influences the marking in a positive or negative way and will be assessed only by "+" or "-" for the whole group.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
C2 level for both languages. We strongly advise you to have completed the following courses: Basiskompertenz Translation A Italienisch and Basiskompertenz Translation B.
Examination topics
The final exam will tackle an issue discussed during the course lessons and consists of two translations (German/Italian and Italian/German). Any technical mean or reference work can be used for this task.
