Aims, contents and method of the course
Oral intralingual work based on various genres of text. Textual analyses, text production, text optimization, and improvement of oral language production are at the core of this course. There will be student presentations based on a text in Spanish or German, followed by a discussion. A good knowledge of the Spanish language is prerequisite.
Assessment and permitted materials
Immanent course grading: grade based on the semester performance. Regular attendance is prerequisite for assessing the students performance. Continuous active in-class participation and oral exams during the semester as well as an oral final exam in the last week of the semester. There will be an attendance list in this course.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Achievement of oral communication as well as oral text competence based on simple to medium-difficult texts of various genres from Spanish-speaking countries. By considering various topics, the course offers the possibility to make cultural, idiomatic, and lexicalic comparisons.
Examination topics
Preparation of and work with texts and certain topics chosen in part by the teacher, in part by the students. Acquisition of presentation techniques, moderation of discussions etc. Short presentations, discussions, ad hoc-presentations and the like will improve elocution and presentation skills as well as oral language competence. A good knowledge of the Spanish language is prerequisite.
