Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Developing reading comprehension strategies and reading-based writing skills.Students acquire textual analysis methods that enable them to understand and discuss texts as communicative events.

Assessment and permitted materials

Participation in class and in online activities (10%), mid-term test (20%), final test (30%), and writing assignment(s) (40%).Attendance mandatory (two absences allowed). Students are allowed to use a monolingual dictionary in exams.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

To improve the skills of reading comprehension and text-based writing, with a focus on exploring different types of meaning, organizing texts, and integrating sources.

Examination topics

In-class reading and writing activities (individual, pair, and group work), online activities, home assignments in reading comprehension and text production.
