Assessment and permitted materials
The entire service provision by students must be carried out by the following December 30th at the latest on Januar xxth,, at the latest, at the latest courses of the summer semester. Students who are not of the GGSt. Have signed the course. If the assessment is negative, a commission attendance is inadmissible, attending the course must be repeated. Legal source: Articles of Association of the University of Vienna §10 (4, 5, 6).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The ability to "read" a sports map (know conventional signs and designations). Understand special movement-related basics and apply them in practical lessons of orienteering. Expanding sports experience: laying the optimal path of movement over the distance. Participation in the practical origin of the distance. Improvement and stabilization of your own.Face-to-face classes:
1. Working posture [40 points]
(Attendance, punctuality, cooperation, commitment)
2. Skill [20 points]
Presentation of the program for the development of a certain component of training in orienteering (max. 5points per feat)
3. Practical and theoretical work [20 points].
Students draw a route on a sports map.
4. Participation in the practical origin of the distance [20 points].
Assessment of personal skills by course
Requirements:
At least 75% attendance
At least 50% active participation
Clef:
1 = 100 - 88%
2 = 87-76%
3 = 75-64%
4 = 63 - 51%
5 = 50% or less

Orienteering is a practical course where the main attention is paid to practical classes on the development of physical, technical, tactical and psychological components of an athlete's training; occupation "on the ground" and actually practical components of orientation itself.
As a result of mastering the course, you will get theoretical knowledge and practical skills in organizations of education and training process in orienteering with groups of different ages and physical fitness. In addition, you should know: historical aspects of the origin and development of orienteering; theoretical foundations of sports; master the basic elements of orienteering techniques; the basics of sports orienteering training methods; understand the organizational and methodological foundations of the educational and training process in orienteering; learn the rules of organizing and holding orienteering competitions.Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Goals of the course:
The course is aimed at acquiring basic competences, own skills (motor learning and technical training) in orienteering. Furthermore, students receive theoretical knowledge and practical skills in organizations of education and training process in orienteering with groups of different ages and physical fitness.
As a result of mastering the course, students should know: historical aspects of the origin and development of orienteering; theoretical foundations of sport; master the basic elements of orienteering techniques; the basics of sports orienteering training methods; understand the organizational and methodological foundations of the educational and training process in orienteering; learn the rules of organizing and holding orienteering competitions.
At the end of the semester, the students should be able to: read topographic maps and signs; to possess the technique of methods of orienteering; to plan and organize the educational and training process in orienteering.

Orienteering as a sport.
Types of orienteering competitions.
Rules of orienteering competitions.
General basics, methods and components of preparation for an educational and training process in orienteering (physical, technical, tactical and psychological).
Basics of distance planning in orienteering.
Practical content:
Forest safety and practical orientation skills.
Mastering the basic technical skills of orienteering.
