(1) Students exercise to present their own research topic in a scientific talk in a way that appeals to a broad audience, enabling understanding and subsequent discussion. For self-reflection and feedback, the talk is recorded on video and made accessible to the speaker; suggestions for improvement are provided.
(2) In this interdisciplinary course, students explore the breadth of geosciences and the wide variety of topics it encompasses. They experience the value of precise language in facilitating discussion and cooperation across different scientific disciplines.
