Aims, contents and method of the course

Die Veranstaltung hat das Ziel, aktuelle Fortschritte in der wissenschaftlichen Forschung in der Mineralogie, Kristallographie und materialorientierten Geoforschung zu vermitteln. Beiträge zu aktuellen Forschungsergebnissen werden in Form von einzelnen Referaten mit anschliessender Fachdiskussion wissenschaftlich erörtert. Im Rahmen der Veranstaltung werden sowohl aktuelle hauseigene Forschungsprojekte präsentiert als auch Referate auswärtiger Fachkolleginnen und -kollegen angeboten. Die fachlichen Schwerpunkte zu aktuellen Forschungsergebnissen und neuesten methodischen Entwicklungen beziehen sich dabei auf methodische Fortschritte in der experimentell-analytischen oder theoretischen Kristallographie, die in der modernen Materialforschung angewandte kristallographischen und spektroskopischen Techniken, angewandte Geomaterialforschung einschließlich Gemmologie sowie verwandte Themen.

Rechtzeitig vor Beginn der Veranstaltungsserie werden die Vortragsthemen via Instituts-Homepage bekannt gemacht.

Assessment and permitted materials

Regelmässige Anwesenheit mit aktiver Teilnahme an den wissenschaftlichen Diskussionen, sowie nach Möglichkeit Beteiligung durch eine eigene Präsentation (mit anschliessender Fachdiskussion) zu einem ausgewählten wissenschaftlichen Thema.
