Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of the course is to work together with the students to develop a repertoire of Russian songs. In addition to active singing, the focus is primarily on deepening grammar skills based on selected song lyrics. Singing is done both a cappella and with guitar accompaniment. Students are welcome to bring additional instruments. Participation is open to all students who have successfully completed the course ‘Russian Language Course: Basic Level’.

Assessment and permitted materials

- Mid-term and final test
- Participation in class and keeping of a vocabulary book
- Written and oral homework assignments (e.g. creating exercise sheets, learning song lyrics)
- Vocal performance of two songs of choice (memorised by heart) at the end of the semester
- Compulsory attendance (maximum of two absences in justified cases with appropriate excuse)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

- Mid-term test (20%) and final test (40%)
- Regular, timely and careful completion of homework assignments, vocabulary book (20%)
- Active participation in class (10%)
- Oral final exam (10%)
To pass, all components must be completed successfully after the first mid-term test and a minimum of 60% must be achieved (100–90% "Sehr gut", 89–80% "Gut", 79–70% "Befriedigend", 69–60% "Genügend").
