Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Basics of phonetic and morphological structure of Slovak language.
Simple and short texts and dialogues on everyday life (introducing oneself, leisure time, family, food, where we live, directions, shopping, sport and culture, school and work).
Basics of Slovak geography and culture.
In case of interest a field trip to Bratislava.
Method: communicative approach, partly self-study.

Assessment and permitted materials

Regular active participation (compulsory attendance), homework, 2 tests during the term, a written and an oral exam at the end of the term (exact dates will be agreed at the beginning of the term).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum 60% achieved in each test plus working communication in the oral exam (A1+ level)

Examination topics

Details of the written exam will be agreed during the term. The 6 topics for the oral exam are for now: I and my family; Leisure time and cultural interests; Leisure time, seasons and sport; School and work; Food, Where we live.
