Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Creating knowledge means expanding the realm of what is conceivable and therefore feasible. But what is knowledge, what is science, and what are the characteristics of scientific knowledge? How does it emerge in different disciplines?

How am I finding this at university? Have I landed in the right discipline for me? What interests me?

We will dedicate two weeks to all these questions, filled with discussion, experimentation, questions, and hopefully joyful and insightful exploration, through theory and practice, in group work and individual reflection. The format offers lectures closely interwoven with tutor-led group work—including a small research project—and reflection sessions. Active participation, independent thinking, and simply trying things out are encouraged.
