Aims, contents and method of the course

This block course which is scheduled at the begining of the first semester introduces the students into the abstract way of thinking and notation of university mathematics. Moreover basic concepts like elementary logic,
methods of proof as well as sets of numbers and algebraic structures which
are used in the introductory courses Analysis1 and Linear Algebra 1 are
presented. Hence this course is intended to bridge the gap between highschool
and university mathematics.
