Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Young researchers have been strongly advised in the recent years to take mobility as one of the most central values in planning their work and lives. That international mobility is necessary and important is for the most part never even questioned. Therefore there are hardly ever any discussions about how the possibility of being mobile but also the requirement of having to be mobile affects the work and lives of young researchers.
In this workshop we are going to discuss the following questions: What are the opportunities of being mobile and under what circumstances can mobility become a limitation? How does the increased mobility in the science system influence how people work and live in scientific institutions? How do mobile biographies alter the relationships between scientists and society and consequently how do individual scientists approach ethical questions arising in different local contexts?

The workshop is particularly aimed at Advanced PhD Students and Junior PostDocs from all disciplinary backgrounds. For further information, please visit the following website: http://doktorat.at/veranstaltungen
