Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This full-day seminar focuses on developing and/or improving participants’ discussion strategies and skills in various academic situations, including doctoral defence, panel discussions, departmental contexts and the conference/presentation environment. The overall aim of the seminar is to enable doctoral students to participate both more competently and professionally as well as more confidently in the above discussion situations.
Assessment and permitted materials
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Based on short input phases, participants will practice typical situations in pairs, small groups or plenary. Trainer and peer feedback consolidate the learning effect.
Examination topics
The seminar format allows taking participants' individual interests and needs into consideration.
