Examination topics

The lecture course will be supported by films and other visual and audio material. Students are encouraged to actively participate in discussions.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written final test.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The lecture course is intended to make students familiar with the transformation of Southern society through the successes of the Civil Rights Movement and the advent of migrants from the Caribbean and from Asia. The global role of the South in the transatlantic exchange of ideas and art forms will be also be illustrated through the discussion of contemporary texts, music and films.
