The goal of the workshop is to provide doctoral candidates and staff in scientific disciplines with a general understanding of how to formulate effective patent search strategies in Espacenet, thereby identifying the patent literature of greatest relevance to their research projects. No previous knowledge of patents, patent databases, or database searching is assumed. However, prior attendance at the 'Introduction to Patents and Inventions` workshop (on 23.01.13) may facilitate understanding.
