Examination topics

OOPT stands for Oxford Online Placement Test. It is a standardized test that tests your level of English. The online test is divided up into two sections – Use of English and Listening. The Use of English section assesses students' knowledge of grammatical form and vocabulary. The Listening section assesses students’ general listening ability. Both sections test how well students understand the meaning of what is being communicated.

Assessment and permitted materials

This is a digital exam. You will take the exam at a computer in the computer lab (the exact time and location will be confirmed via email the day before the exam) and you have to submit your answers online before your time runs out.

Please note that the use of dictionaries or any other referencing material is not permitted.

Please note that The Oxford Placement Test is an adaptive test, which means that the test adjusts the difficulty of questions based on the student’s responses.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

For students looking to study BEI:
You must achieve at least B2 level across all sections.

For students looking to successfully complete BEII:
You need to reach 91 points or more in order to complete the Business English II course.
