Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course gives a general introduction to typical business decision problems for students coming from a non-business background. It prepares students to participate in more advanced business classes. A specific focus is placed on quantitative approaches and methods of business decision making.

Specifically, the following topics will be covered:

  • Foundations of decision making

  • Decisions in production and logistics

  • Decisions in finance

  • Business strategy

  • Organization and HR
  • The course will be held on site and integrates lectures and exercise units.
    Depending on the Corona situation, some or all in-class units may be replaced by online video conferences.

Assessment and permitted materials

Final exam (60)%
In class and take home exercises (40%)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Attendance is compulsory, at most three units may be missed.

At least 50% of total grade points must be achieved to pass the course. Passing grades are allocated linearly in the interval 50-100%
