Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
In diesem Seminartypus erarbeiten Sie ein Thema und generieren daraus eine der beiden Bachelorarbeiten im Modul 7. Regelmäßige und engagierte Mitarbeit, Teilnahme an den Seminardiskussionen, Rechercheaufgaben zum Thema des Seminars im Rahmen einer AG, Vorabsprache des eigenen Projekts, Entwicklung eines Exposés von 2 Seiten (Forschungsfrage, Gliederung, Korpus, Zeitrahmen), Präsentation eigener Ideen zur BA Arbeit im Plenum, Abgabe am 25.9.2023 per Upload auf Moodle (optionale Vorabgabe des Inhaltsverzeichnisses und eines Kapitels).
Umfang der Bachelorarbeit: ca. 65.000 Zeichen (± 5%), inkl. Leerzeichen, Fußnoten, Titelblatt, Inhaltsverzeichnis, Bibliographie, exklusive Bilder und Grafiken. In Seiten ausgedrückt sind das ca. 25 Manuskriptseiten, 1½ zeilig, 12pkt., Nicht zu vergessen: englischsprachiges Abstract von ca. 1.000 Zeichen und Eigenständigkeitserklärung.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Ability to orient yourself in the subject area, good command of the most important concepts and methods discussed in the course, ability to conduct independent research, versatility in using specialised bibliographies and archives, familiarity with exemplary cases. There is always a general scientific ability: originality of approach, independence and clarity of argumentation, critical handling the material, nuanced assessment of the research literature, depth of research.
Examination topics
The material arises from the seminar and the topic of the bachelor's thesis determined in a consultation hour.

In recent years there have been developments to endow nature (or certain components of nature, such as mountains or rivers) with personal rights and thereby provide a new form of effective nature conservation. In the first case, the protection of the person is derived from nature, in the second case, personal rights are constructed in order to protect nature.
The seminar offers the opportunity to thoroughly grasp these developments through the study of original texts. In our discussions we want to discuss one strand running through these texts, namely the rights and legal ideas of indigenous peoples. Both – emancipatory – legal developments make evident and explicit references. Finally, the problem of naturalistic short-circuiting will be investigated.
