Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Students work independently on problem solutions related to content of the corresponding lecture course (VO). Presentation and discussion of solutions by the students. The weekly problems will be posted at https://www.mat.univie.ac.at/~gue/material.html.

Assessment and permitted materials

Weekly checkmarks (in Moodle) for the problems solved and presentation of solutions by students during the PS sessions (upon request).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The grade will be based on the combination of the number of problems checked (overall for the entire semester) and the student solution presentations, with more emphasis on the latter. To pass the PS, students are required to have
(a) at least 2/3 of the problems checked (overall for the entire semester),
(b) at least two acceptable solution presentations.
In principle, students are required to attend every weekly session; in the exceptional case of unavoidable absence please notify the leader of your PS-group (by e-mail) in advance.

Examination topics

The problems will be available online at https://www.mat.univie.ac.at/~gue/material.html in due time and are based on the content of the lecture course (VO).

Reading list

Cf. literature for the lecture course (VO).
