Aims, contents and method of the course

This will be a research seminar, on selected topics of current top-level research in geometry, in particular algebraic geometry, symplectic topology, and low dimensional topology, based around the research interests of the lecturers. Every seminar will consist of an introductory section, followed by a section presenting recent developments.

Assessment and permitted materials

Detailed notes of at least 5 seminars, and a brief presentation (oral or written) on the material of one of the talks of the semester.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

An oral or written presentation, handing in notes of 5 seminars at the end of the semester, and at least 80% attendance during the semester.
