Introduction to python and numerical tools such as numpy and scipy for the solution of numerical problems. Special python software tools will be discussed in order to solve finite element and boundary element problems (Fenics, BEM++)

Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Hands-on Übungen am eigenen Computer zu den Themen, die in der Vorlesung behandelt werden. Als Programmiersprache kommt Python zum Einsatz. Neben einer allgemeinen Einführung in Python werden schwerpunktmäßig Python-Bibliotheken zum wissenschaftlichen Rechnen behandelt (z.B. NumPy, SciPy, MatPlotlib, FEniCS, BEM++). In der Übung wird der Umgang mit Python anhand einfacher Beispiele erarbeitet. Am Ende des Semesters wird in Kleingruppen ein umfangreicheres Projekt behandelt.
