340406 UE Translation in the Humanities: Chinese (2024S)

In this course, selected texts from the arts & humanities will be studied in the context of a given translation task and translated between Chinese and German. This would include sharing and reflecting on one's own work in the form of presentations, discussions of terminology and research techniques, and explorations of alternative translations in light of scopos-theoretical concerns. The course will additionally cover the application of artificial intelligence in the translation process. Pre-editing and post-editing in Chinese-German machine translation will be addressed.
