Continuous assessment of course work

Increase of language competence and linguistic professionalism will be focused especially at the stylistic diversity. In this regard the students will work with various styles of Ukrainian language, style instruments at different linguistic levels and with their typical features. Analyzing Ukrainian texts at advanced levels they will also make translations into Ukrainian systematically developing their language expertise and competence in terms of different topics taking into consideration the appropriate stylistic context.

Aims, contents and method of the course

Further work on language stiles and respectively different texts; oral trainings in discussing, logical and scientific argumentation etc.

Assessment and permitted materials

Learning performance during the participation in the classes, homeworks, presentations, translations, home reading, participation in the discussions on selected topics.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Ability to write and communicate at competent levels, to translate original texts, to provide independent scientific work on humanitarian/art topics as well as to participatie in the scientific discussions including argumentation and critic.

Examination topics

Selected course materials, copies, short films, Internet stuff and books.

Reading list

Will be offered and discussed/fixed at the beginning of the course.
