Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

The Vienna Model on Anglo-American Legal English is offering courses onLegal English and the English and American Law Systems in order to helplegal and language professionals and students develop special legallanguage skills that will enable them to be successful in an everdemanding international legal environment. It is a unique opportunity tofocus systematically on this issue by offering a set of lectures/coursesthat will allow you to develop excellence in this field.Anglo-Amerikanische Rechtssprache IV (2 hrs, every other semester)will provide you with a systematic introduction to the law and language of US/UK/Austrian the Tort Law, Family Law, Law of Succession, Real Estate Law

presentation/final test, active class participation (readingassignments, handouts/study aids to be prepared for class)

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

Requirements for passing the course and obtaining a report:
1. regular course attendance
2. regular preparation for class (study aids will require at least asmuch time as class work)
3. active class participation
4. oral exam which can be replaced by a (joint) presentation
