Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
Evolution and history of international and European environmental law. Structure of international and European environmental law within the context of public international law. Specific areas of international and European environmental law (e.g. climate change, water law, biodiversity and biosafety, animal law).
Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
1. Written examination: Short reflective questions making up 40% of the final course mark.2. Group presentations: Short presentations on a specific area or current topic of international and European environmental law worth 40% of the final course mark.3. Class participation: This will include demonstrated preparation for class and participation in discussions worth 20% of the final course mark.
Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
A sound understanding of the basics of international and European environmental law within the context of public international law.
Prüfungsstoff
Current status of international and European environmental law (documents and academic debate), discussion of current events and initiatives.
