Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

The course offers a broad insight into global historical developments and the conceptual range of constitutional laws. It aims to provide students with comprehensive tools to critically and autonomously address the main issues and debates in comparative constitutional law with respect to our globalized order.
Based on historical, legal critical, and interdisciplinary literature that invite the students to explore constitutional traditions around the world, the course, in particular, examines constitutional structures and constitutional rights. It challenges to reflect on the intersection between constitution and decolonization, before focusing, at the end of the term, on the bottom-up constitution-making processes within the frame of a reversed classroom.
