• The system of collective security according to the UN Charter
• The use of force between collective self-defence and collective security
• Notion and legality of humanitarian intervention
• Responsibility to protect

• The Security Council’s discretion to determine whether a situation under Article 39 of the UN Charter exists
• The legal basis for Security Council action against terrorism

Es fokussiert auf die Entwicklung des Gewaltverbots im Rahmen der Vereinten Nationen und diskutiert rezente Entwicklungen wie humanitäre Interventionen und Schutzverantwortung, sowie die Rolle, die der Sicherheitsrat dabei spielt.Die Teilnehmenden werden ersucht sich bei der Themawahl von der unterstehenden Liste inspirieren zu lassen. Die Seminararbeiten können auf Deutsch oder Englisch verfasst werden.
