Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
The course aims at introducing the students to the basic contents of macroeconomics. By the end of the course, students are expected to have acquired a basic understanding of what factors drive economic growth, what causes business cycle fluctuations, and how the financial sector operates.The course consists of three main building blocks:
1. Macroeconomic Accounts
2. Economic Growth
3. Business CyclesThe lecture comprises 4 hours per week covering mainly theory and examples. There will be an additional tutorial, where practical exercises are discussed.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
The evaluation consists of the following components: midterm exam, final exam, problem sets and quizzes. Exams and quizzes will take place online on Moodle.Problem Set 3 and 9 will be graded. There will be an online quiz each week on Friday (except the first), to be completed until the following week.
