Information
Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung
This course covers topics related to the regulation of banks and other financial intermediaries. The course content will include both the institutional details of existing bank regulations (e.g. the Basel Accords), as well as theoretical models focused on understanding the normative and positive implications of banking regulation. Topics covered will include: capital regualtion, liquidity regulation, bank supervision and resolution, as well as more recent issues relating to macro-prudential regulation.
Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
The final grade will be based on two written exams, a mid-term and final, each worth 50% of the final mark. The exact details of the exam dates will be announced in the first class.
Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab
Students are expected to have completed the compulsory Financial Intermediation I and Game Theory/Information Economics courses. Students are also expected to have completed undergraduate mathematics courses in multivariable differential calculus and single variable integral calculus.
Prüfungsstoff
The structure and topics of the exam will be announced in the first class.
