In this course, we embark on an in-depth exploration of corporate finance theory, focusing on the decision-making processes related to financing and investments within corporations. We will delve into a range of pertinent topics, including how corporations navigate financing decisions amid various agency problems like moral hazard, asymmetric information, and limited observability. Additionally, the course will address key issues in corporate governance, such as executive compensation, the intricacies of speculative monitoring, and the role of investor activism. Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel
Grading in this course is structured to reflect a comprehensive assessment of your understanding and engagement. It includes a midterm exam (30%) and a final exam (50%), both of which will be conducted in class and are closed book, meaning you will not be permitted to refer to lecture notes or textbooks during the exams. The midterm exam is scheduled for April 1, while the final exam will take place on April 29. Additionally, class participation will account for 20% of your final grade, emphasizing the importance of active engagement in the learning process.

To successfully pass the course, you must achieve an aggregate score of at least 48% across all assessment components.Please note that regular class attendance is mandatory and crucial for successful participation.
