These students have priority over students studying at other faculties.Successful completion of the introductory and orientation period (STEOP) is a necessary prerequisite for registration.

Written test: to be confirmed - exact details will be announced in the first lecturePlease note that alternative dates or make-up exams cannot be offered.The use of dictionaries and any other referencing material is not permitted during any of the exams or assessments.In order to pass the course, participants must:
1. reach an overall percentage score (PS) of at least 60%
2. meet the attendance/participation requirements.Students will be awarded a grade on the basis of their overall percentage score (PS) as follows:0 - 59,9% = Nicht Genügend
60 - 69% = Genügend
70 - 79% = Befriedigend
80 - 89% = Gut
90 - 100% = Sehr GutAccording to university regulation, this course is "prüfungsimmanent", which means that physical attendance is mandatory and in principle students must attend every class. Exceptionally, they may miss a maximum of two sessions (2 times unexcused absence is permitted). If students miss more than two sessions, this will result in a fail.Failure to attend the first session without prior notification will result in losing the place in the course.

• read and understand English texts on a B2 level of the Common European Framework;
• understand, apply and translate business English vocabulary and terminology from fields like management; human resources; production and operations; sales, marketing and advertising, and to recall as required the essential terminology associated with them
• participate in discussions in the above fields
• develop a range of business vocabulary and collocations and apply them correctly
• apply key language features such as tense usage and linkers to optimise communication
• produce appropriate and effective texts for a range of different business situationsMode of teaching: on-site. Only the midterm will be held digitally on 05.05 from 09:00-10:30.Methods: mostly, classes are of a workshop nature and involve a wide range of activities based on the course literature and are designed to enhance your reading, listening, speaking and writing skills in a business context. This will include audio-visual content, reading and listening comprehension exercises based on current affairs, group work, presentations, discussions, peer assessment, vocabulary development and reinforcement of grammatical structures, case studies and regular online quizzes.
