Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

This course provides an introductory exploration of corporate social responsibility (CSR) theories and concepts. The primary focus is to promote an understanding of how CSR principles can inform a firm's strategic planning, highlighting the importance of managing a company in the best interests of a wide range of stakeholders to maximize both economic and social value over time.
The primary goal of this course is to foster students' analytical thinking and active engagement with the concept of sustainable business models tailored to the demands of the twenty-first century. It covers the fundamental principles of CSR and delves into the essentials of strategic thinking in the context of CSR. Furthermore, the course aims to equip students with the skills to apply CSR concepts effectively in real-world business scenarios.
The teaching approach combines traditional lectures with an interactive, student-centered learning experience. Hence, students are encouraged to actively participate in class discussions.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

It is mandatory to attend the first session.
• 10% class participation
• 30% assignments and group presentation
• 60% final written exam

The use of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT) for the production of texts is only permitted if they are expressly requested by the course leader (e.g. for individual work tasks).

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

50% of the total grade with at least 25 points obtained in the final written exam. More details about the final exam are provided in the class. Additional information about assignments is also provided during the course.
