Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

This course familiarizes participants with the discourse on the governance of international firms. More specifically, the aim is to understand a stakeholder governance perspective towards a firm’s strategic planning so that a firm is/should be managed in the interests of a broad set of stakeholders to achieve maximum economic and social value over time. Moreover, with students' active contribution, the course aims to promote their analytical thinking and active learning in dealing with management and organizational issues when managing stakeholder relationships.
Specifically, the course will offer topics on the fundamentals of corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and ethical decision making embedded within the strategic management process of firms. The course learning method is based on lectures, active student interaction, and assignments.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

•Attending the first session is mandatory
•Actively contribute to class discussions: 10%
•Midterm quiz: 20%
•Group presentation: 20%
•Final written exam: 50%

The use of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT) for the production of texts is only permitted if they are expressly requested by the course leader (e.g. for individual work tasks).

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

The passing grade is 50% out of the total points. Students should receive at least 20 points in the written final exam.
