Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

The aim of this course is to give an overview of the existing theoretical explanations of the existence and organization of the international firm:

Hymer and Kindlerberger theory, diversification theory, product life cycle theory, appropriation and transaction cost theory, internationalization theory, appropriation theory, eclectic theory, network theory, resource-based and organizational capabilities theory, institutional theory, power theory, LLL-theory, Spring board theory and theory of digital MNC.

The class is mainly based on lectures and literature discussion.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

Exam (in English) for which you have to register separately via univis (look in Cluster WIWI Prüfungen).

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

a. Exam Evaluation - Total points (100)
Positive evaluation of the exam (min. 50 %)
b. Bonuspoints (max. 35)

(B) Essay (max. 10) (5 pages without references; font size 12, 1.5 line spacing)

final course evaluation.
