Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

Together with Professor DDr.Peter Lewisch, Department of Criminal Law, Faculty of Law

Preliminary: Being part of the ERASMUS MUNDUS Program European Master of Law and Economics-EMLE this seminar will start after the arrival of the students after Easter.

This Seminar will deal with selected topics which are presented by guest speakers as well as heads of the seminar. Among them are the benefits of labor market regulation, the failures of the Coase theorem in practice, the emergence of behavioral law and economics, the economics of aided suicide.
Students will be invited to write comments on presentations of their choice

Presetation of core ideas of master Thesis (Students in EMLE)
Bonus points for active participation

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

Students will become familiar with scholarly work and state of the art research so that they can see the applicability and flexibility of the law and economics approach for analysis. Moreover they also improve their critical perception of the approach.
Towards the end of the seminar students are themselves asked to proof their skills by presenting the core ideas of their master theses
