Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

In the core combinations module "Semantic Technologies", the goal is to research and facilitate innovation in the digital transformation age. A model-based approach is employed to conceptualize, implement, and deploy semantic information systems. Thereby, individuals or teams develop semantic information systems while exploring the potential of "smart" models.

In the summer semester semantic technologies and their concepts are introduced in a lecture. To deepen theoretical foundations an experiment must be conducted. In the context of the experiment a semantic information system must be implemented, and a seminar paper must be written.

Correspondingly, students acquire skills to:
* Design semantic technology applications
* Conceptualize and implement scenarios that benefit from semantic technologies in the digital transformation age
* Develop and implement semantic based prototypes

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

- A written test has to be passed. The test will contain theory questions and applied problems. During the test, no unauthorized materials are allowed and all electronic devices have to be turned off.
- A project must be implemented and presented.
- A seminar paper must be written and presented.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

In detail, the grade is constituted by:

* Seminar paper (30%)
* Project (45%)
* Written Test (25 %)

For a positive evaluation of the course, more or equal to 50% of requirements have to be fulfilled. The grading scale is defined as follows: >=50% - 62,5%: sufficient (Genügend); >62,5% - 75%: satisfactory (Befriedigend); >75% - 87,5%: good (Gut); >87,5%: excellent (Sehr Gut)

Missing class more than two times results in a negative grade.
